Update Experience the Heartwarming Magic of 'Amahl and the Night Visitors' This holiday season, Light Opera of New Jersey (LONJ) invites audiences of all ages to immerse themselves in the enchanting world of Gian Carlo Menotti’s beloved one-act opera, Amahl and the Night Visitors. This production will take place in the intimate setting of the Morristown Unitarian Universalist Fellowship, making it an ideal venue for family outings, especially during the festive season. First performed on NBC in 1951, Amahl tells the touching story of a young boy named Amahl whose life is transformed one magical evening by the visit of three mysterious kings. As the Kings travel to Bethlehem to honor a newborn child, they seek shelter for the night, leading to a heartwarming exchange that explores themes of generosity, faith, and the true spirit of giving. Artistic Director Jason Tramm emphasized, “We wanted to create more than a performance—we wanted to create a holiday experience that families could share and remember together.” This sentiment speaks to the core essence of the holiday spirit, where kindness and togetherness shine the brightest.
