On October 12, 2026, Jenkinson's Aquarium invites children aged 7-11 to participate in the Junior Keepers program, transforming a regular day off into a memorable marine adventure. This unique event not only introduces kids to life behind the scenes but also allows them to engage personally with the fascinating world of oceanic creatures, fostering a genuine interest in marine conservation and science. Hands-On Learning Experience At the Junior Keepers event, participants will have the chance to receive training in animal care, including activities like feeding and providing enrichment for various aquatic animals such as fish, turtles, and even penguins. Children will have the opportunity to meet animals up close and learn directly from the aquarium's dedicated care staff, who are passionate about their roles as caretakers of marine life. This hands-on experience fosters not just a love for marine biology but significantly enhances children’s understanding of animal welfare and environmental stewardship. Moreover, these activities are designed to be interactive and fun, allowing children to ask questions and engage with the professionals who work at the aquarium. This interaction helps to demystify the field of marine biology and encourages young participants to see themselves as potential future scientists or conservationists. Such exposure can inspire kids to pursue paths in environmental science or marine research. A Fun and Educational Day For only $100, parents can enroll their children in this enlightening program, which includes admission to the aquarium. It's the perfect way to combine fun with learning.
